Dry Shaving: How To Dry Shave?

Most people easily get convinced in the favor of dry shaving for the simple reason that it is so wonderfully easy and quick in terms of result-yielding. Further, the risk of getting razor burns or razor burns is minimal with dry shaving so one is saved from having to bother about treating cut marks throughout one’s life too.

That was the good part. Now coming to the sad part, this pertains to the problem that most individuals do not know of the correct way to dry shaving. That is to say, while they want to appropriate the positives of getting to shave without anything (well, almost!), they do not spend time and effort over learning the correct manner of going about it.

Please ensure that you do not join or continue to be a part of the ignorant race then and read through the following step-by-step guide on how to dry shave:

Step#1 You do not need complex setup for dry shaving. So simply get yourself an electric razor and some after-shave lotion (in case your skin is over-sensitive and gets moisture deprived easily)

Step#2 Decide the direction of shave. While going against the direction of hair growth is advisable for the closest shave, it could cause irritation and rashes for a few with sensitive skin. In such cases then, shaving in the direction of hair growth is the way to go.

Step#3 Before you actually let the trimmer come in contact with your skin, be sure to pull the skin tout. This would ensure that the razor can work more efficiently as it would get a flatter surface to work on now. But please be careful of not stretching the skin too hard. Only a bit of firming would do. Once you have done that, simply run the razor over the hair growth.

Step#4 Another aspect to be careful of is avoiding pressing down the razor on skin or exerting pressure on it in any way. Unlike manual razor blades which tend to get blunt with regular usage, electric trimmers have sharp razor edges and are capable of cutting hair in a clean manner. So there is no need to pressurize the razor in dry shaving. Infact, doing so could cause the blade to come in contact with the sensitive skin that surrounds the other side of the follicle and thereby cause itchiness and rashes.

Step#5 Finally, clean the shaved skin with a soft cloth (you could even use a wet cloth) and apply a good quality after-shave lotion.

You will now find yourself ready with that ultra-clean shave and the confidence to win the world.
